MS Brokerage Account · Android & iOS application (com.msbrokerage.app)
Effective date: 2026-09-27 · Last updated: 2026-09-27

MS Brokerage Account ("the App", "we", "us") provides live watchlist quotes, price charts, symbol search, market news links, a portfolio tracker, price alerts and a suite of trade & investment calculators. This policy explains what information the App handles, where it goes, and the choices you have.

In short:

  • The App has no user accounts and no sign-in.
  • It shows no ads and includes no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • Everything you enter — watchlist, portfolio, transactions, alerts, calculator inputs and history — is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to us.
  • The only data that leaves your device is the market-data request your device sends directly to Yahoo Finance.
  • We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not collect any.

1. Information we do not collect

We do not ask for, and do not collect, any of the following:

  • Name, email address, phone number or postal address
  • Account credentials, contacts, calendar or messages
  • Photos, videos, audio or other files from your device
  • Precise or approximate location
  • Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data
  • Bank, brokerage or payment account credentials

The App does not require registration or sign-in. We operate no server-side user profile, and we cannot identify you from your use of the App.

2. Information you enter, stored on your device

The App is a planning and tracking tool that runs entirely on your device. The following is stored in a private application database on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party:

  • Your watchlist and the symbols you follow
  • Portfolio holdings, transactions, quantities and cost basis you enter
  • Price alerts and their trigger rules
  • Calculator inputs, results and saved records
  • App settings, such as refresh interval, theme and language
  • Cached quote and chart data that speeds up the next launch

This data is removed when you clear the App's data or uninstall the App. It is not backed up by us; if your platform's own device backup is enabled, your operating system vendor may include app data in your personal backup under its own terms.

3. Information sent over the network

The App needs internet access for one purpose: retrieving market data. Requests go directly from your device to Yahoo Finance public endpoints (query1.finance.yahoo.com, query2.finance.yahoo.com, feeds.finance.yahoo.com). Those requests contain:

What is sentWhy
Symbols you view, search for, or hold in your watchlist To return quotes, charts and related news for those symbols
Text you type into symbol search To return matching search results and trending lists
Standard technical data: IP address, device and app user-agent string, request time Present in any HTTPS request; generated by the network stack, not selected by us
Consent cookies set by Yahoo's consent flow (guce.yahoo.com) Required by the data provider before it serves quote data; kept in the App's private cookie store on your device

We keep no history of your searches or watchlists, because the App does not transmit that data to us at all. Portfolio values are calculated on your device; your holdings and transactions are never part of a network request.

Yahoo Finance is an independent data provider and processes requests under its own privacy policy (legal.yahoo.com). We encourage you to review it, since its handling of technical request data is outside our control.

4. Home-screen widget

If you add the MS Brokerage Account widget to your home screen, the App writes the latest quote snapshot (symbol, price, change) into the widget's local storage so it can be rendered. This information stays on your device and is visible only on your own home screen.

5. Notifications and price alerts

Price alerts are evaluated on your device. When a rule you created is met, the App posts a local notification: the notification is scheduled and displayed by your own device, and its content is not sent through any server of ours or of a push provider.

  • Android 13 and later requires the POST_NOTIFICATIONS runtime permission; the App asks when you create your first alert, not at launch.
  • On iOS the App asks for notification permission at the same point.
  • You can decline, and you can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings. Alerts still work inside the App.

6. External links

Some screens offer links to third-party pages, such as a full news article or a provider's website. Selecting a link opens your device's browser or the relevant app. Once you leave the App, the destination's own privacy policy and terms apply. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content.

7. Device permissions

The App requests only what it needs:

PermissionPurpose
INTERNET Download quotes, charts and news, and reach the data provider's consent endpoint
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) Show your own price-alert notifications

Storage and media-library permissions (photos, videos, external storage) are explicitly declared as removed in the App manifest, so they cannot be merged in by any dependency. The App never reads your gallery or files, and it writes no files to shared storage. It does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts or Bluetooth access.

8. Sharing, selling and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information, because we do not collect any. There is no advertising network, no analytics provider, no crash-reporting SDK and no data broker integrated into the App. We may disclose information only if we are legally required to do so, and we hold no personal data to disclose.

9. Security

All network requests use HTTPS. Because the App keeps your data on your device and transmits no personal information to us, the main safeguard is your own device security: keep your operating system up to date, use a screen lock, and be aware that anyone with access to your unlocked device can open the App and see the portfolio and watchlist you entered.

10. Data retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it. You can remove it at any time by clearing the App's storage in your device settings (Android: Settings → Apps → MS Brokerage Account → Storage → Clear data; on iOS, deleting the App removes its data), or by uninstalling the App. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

11. Children's privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will act promptly.

12. International users

The App is distributed worldwide. Because your watchlist, portfolio and preferences never leave your device, no transfer of personal data across borders takes place on our side. Market-data requests go directly from your device to the data provider's servers, which may be located outside your country.

13. No investment advice

MS Brokerage Account is not a broker, dealer, investment adviser or financial institution, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Yahoo or any exchange. All quotes, charts, statistics, news links and calculator results are provided for informational and educational purposes only, may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate, and are not investment, financial, tax or legal advice, nor a recommendation to buy or sell any security.

Figures you see are the result of formulas applied to the inputs you entered or to third-party market data; verify everything with your broker before acting, and consult a qualified professional.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change how the App handles data — for example, by adding an optional cloud sync feature — we will update this policy, revise the "Last updated" date above, and where required notify you in the App or through the store listing. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
